Your watch sessions are secure by design. Hosts can set optional room passwords to keep sessions private for their group. We never track personal video files, sell your data, or inject intrusive advertisements into your streams.

No. Anyone can join a watch party instantly using just the room link. No account creation, software downloads, or browser extensions are required for guest viewers.
Every room automatically generates 20 video recommendations in the Explore tab. All room members (hosts and non-hosts) can upvote videos. When the current video ends, the video with the highest votes automatically autoplays next (or defaults to the top recommendation if no votes exist), allowing continuous binge-watching or music listening without clicking.
Yes! PlayParty natively synchronizes YouTube Live broadcasts (such as breaking news, live elections, esports championships, and 24/7 lo-fi music channels) in sub-50ms real-time sync without stream drift or room crashes.
No, the extension is 100% optional. There is no hard limit. Rooms scale with real-time WebSocket channels. We have tested with dozens of simultaneous viewers without issues.
Yes. When creating a room you can set an optional password. Anyone joining will need to enter it before they can watch.
Never. PlayParty.io only syncs playback state (play, pause, and seek events). Your video remains on its original server and is streamed directly to each viewer.
